URGENT FOOT/ANKLE CARE

Scar Treatment Process

CAUSES

Scars can be caused after surgery or injury. Your body may make a thick keloid type of scar that can be painful. Here are some of the treatment options to help with your scar.

TREATMENT PROCESS

This is my current treatment process for patients with scars.

  • 1st Visit - Evaluate your scar and try some of the simpler treatments including Mederma, Scar Guard and Silicone tape on the scar.
  • Laser - Heating up the scar can help with flattening and reducing the pain from the scar.
  • Cortisone - Sometimes cortisone injections can be indicated to painful thick scars.
  • Surgery - Surgical intervention can be used at times to reduce painful scar tissue.
