Green Toenail Treatment Process

TREATMENT PROCESS

This is my current treatment process for patients with Green toenails.

  • 1st Visit - Evaluate your condition, determine if the toenail is fungus, detached or has pseudomonas infection (green) under the toenail. Work at reducing the moisture.
  • Home Treatments - You can try home treatments such as these.

Bleach 1:4 (1 part bleach 4 parts water) apply to toenail twice daily

Vinegar 1:2  (1 part vinegar 2 parts water) mixture soak feet twice daily

  • Prescription - If the home treatments do not work we can try prescribing Tobramycin drops.
  • Onyfix - Many times if the toenail is detached applying Onyfix to the toenail can help it reattach and clear up.

RESOURCES

  • Article -  Here is a great academic explanation of Green Toenail Syndrome.

  • Shoe Recommendations - Many times a tight shoe can cause toenail trauma here are some shoe recommendations.

PRODUCTS

Here are some of the best recommendations I have found on Amazon to start treatment before you come in to the office.
