OMD (One Meal A Day) Might Work For You
I've been sharing my adventures with eating lots of bacon, eating a keto diet, and meal prepping. I like to try new things because I get bored easily.
I was talking to a patient of mine recently who lost over 100 lbs. Whenever that happens, I am always curious how they did it.
Many patients today are using Ozempic and Mounjaro to lose weight, but I learned about intermittent fasting, which is a way to lose or maintain weight.
Monday through Friday, I do something called OMD, or "one meal a day." I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out!
The Obesity Code: A Game-Changer
I read Dr. Jason Fung's book, The Obesity Code, and it was a total eye-opener. He talks about different diets and how our bodies work (you can get the CliffsNotes version in my video HERE).
I listened to it on Audible while driving, which changed my perspective. One of the eating schedules he mentions is OMD (One Meal a Day), and it worked for me and for many of my very busy patients.
From Six Meals to One: A Journey
I used to prepare six small meals a day, but it was a hassle and didn't yield any results. It involved massive food prepping on the weekend and a constantly full fridge. So, I switched to OMD, and it was a total turnaround.
Intermittent fasting worked, but it took time to adjust. My inspiration? Dr. Feldman! He'd often work all day without lunch, and I thought, "If Neil can do it, so can I!"
My Patients Transformation...
As I was saying, I was talking to my patient, who lost over 100 lbs through fasting. It only took him 5 years to do what I recommended.
I am not a diet doctor, and I don’t play one on TV, but I like health and feel that some patients benefit from fasting.
To be sure, check with your doctor if you have any questions.
