Dangerous Dad Adventures 

Recently, my parents visited from Minnesota (aka the land of 10,000 lakes and Garrison Keillor's storytelling paradise). After they left, my son had a brilliant idea - stacking his two single beds on top of each other!  I mean, who needs mom's permission when you have a vision, right? So, I went ahead and stacked those beds, and my son was thrilled to sleep on his new elevated bed.

Now, I know what you're thinking - "Isn't this a recipe for disaster?" And you're right! But hey, no one got hurt this time, and my son loved the new bed setup. 

But let's just say I've had my fair share of "dangerous dad" moments. Like the time my kids loved jumping on the bed, and I didn't exactly discourage them (oops!).

Or the time my daughter got hurt (not on my watch, thankfully!) when someone else was helping her down the stairs and accidentally dislocated her elbow (Nursemaid's elbow, anyone?). Long story short - emergency room trip, bright orange cast, and a totally recovered daughter later... 

Moral of the story: sometimes dangerous dad behavior pays off (no injuries this time!), but sometimes it's better to err on the side of caution (and listen to mom).

Dr. Feldman’s Longest Run - 105 Miles

I knew that Dr. Feldman does many long runs actually that is the question for next week - How many 100 mile runs has Dr. Feldman done? (Hit reply and let me know)

This time it was 105 miles… Can you guess why??

Neil confessed to me that at the Midstate Massive it was dark and when he was running so he got lost.  Instead of the intended 100 miler he ran 5 extra miles chalking his longest run to this point as 105 miles.

What do you do with ugly toenails during sandal season?

I see lots of patients in the office every spring and summer suffering with injured, fungal or just ugly toenails. It can be very embarrassing and I have seen some of the best ways to hide an ugly nail.

#1 - Paint the ugly toenail

#2 - Put a band-aid on the toenail

#3 - Wear closed-toed sandals

#4 - Wear socks

However, we have an excellent treatment in the office called Keryflex. This is a medical procedure done to apply a nail on the top of the injured or infected nail. It lasts for 3-4 months and you can paint right over the nail. Here are some examples of patients who had that procedure.
